BECOMING TWOS is a transitional program for children not quite ready for the Terrific Twos (born between December and June). Moms and/or caregivers can join their toddler in a two-day per week program especially designed for the curious toddler. Watch your child romp and play with other toddlers, dance to new rhymes and songs. Delight in their use of new words and see their fascination with new games and experiences. By January, watch them transition to a more independent toddler as they allow you to leave the classroom.
Toddlers are learning at such a fast rate and undergo huge changes at this stage of their growth. Our Becoming Two program includes a variety of activities designed to stimulate, develop and guide each child through the toddler years. Our teachers understand that each child develops at their own pace and tailor daily activities to meet the individual needs and talents of each child.
The curriculum focuses on supporting growth at every level. Children will build vocabularies through stories, playtime and discovery games. They will improve gross motor skills using our ride on toys, slides, climbers, jump castle, balls and baby trampolines in our Little Gym. They will work on fine motor skills using playdough, cookie cutters, peg puzzles, shape containers, soft blocks and more. They will enjoy a rich sensory environment where they are exposed to a wide variety of tastes, smells, textures, colors and sounds and actively participate in music and movement.
Each classroom will have twelve children taught by three highly qualified teachers and one floater. Classes will be 1 1/2 hours long until January when they will be extended to 2 1/2 hours in length. Special events include a visit from a petting zoo, a storyteller, Pajama Day, Teddy Bear Picnic Day, Beach Day and much more.
